The program features an incredible variety of mindfulness practices. With guidance by leading mindfulness teacher trainer Susan Woods and movement guru Roberta Mohler, it's an amazing way for beginners to dive in, and for experienced meditators to ride the wave of so many people practising together.
Our theme for 2019 is “Clear Mind – Open Heart,” chosen by our lead teacher Susan Woods. Susan is one of the most skilled and sought-after MBCT and MBSR teacher trainers in North America, and has a unique ability to hold a loving and compassionate space.

During our time together, we will have the opportunity to be with the movement of experience as it shows up in the body, mind and heart. We will be holding the practice of silence, which provides space to see what is really there. In this way, we encounter being with, rather than needing to do anything about, our present-moment experience.
By practising present-moment awareness, we develop a different relationship to the moments of reactivity, and the story of “I” becomes less important. As the mind settles, the heart opens. We see we are very much a part of the world, not separate. We feel connected. We feel ease. We feel love.
Join us for a 4-hour journey of mindfulness, heart opening, clarity and connection. Anyone can do it! We’ll move through a wide variety of practices including sitting meditation, movement, music, gentle yoga, and mindful eating. Designed for everyone from beginner to Zen master.

Susan Woods MSW, LICSW, is one of the most skilled and sought-after teacher trainers in North America for Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). People love her compassionate, clear and powerful presence. Susan is a licensed Clinical Social Worker and completed Spirit Rock's Community Dharma Leader training. She developed the MBSR and MBCT professional certification programs at the University of California San Diego, and developed the Centre for Mindfulness Studies' MBSR professional training pathway. More recently, she was part of a strategic team at the Center for Mindfulness at UMass Medical School that was tasked to do a review of their MBSR programs. Susan is a co-author of "Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy – Embodied Presence and Inquiry in Practice" (2019). Roberta Mohler teaches Nia, yoga and expressive arts. After a career as a renowned professional modern dancer, she joined the Nia faculty, training hundreds of instructors across Canada. Roberta has practiced and taught yoga for 20 years. Presently, as a registered somatic movement educator, she brings compassion and humour to mindful movement based expressive arts with the Tamalpa Life Art Process. lifedances.com
Cassidy Thedorf is a meditation teacher and founder of Just Be Meditation. Certified in both the Foundations of Mindfulness Meditation and Applied Specialization in Mindfulness Meditation through the University of Toronto, Cassidy teaches at Hoame, Lululemon and other locations in greater Toronto. She has deepened her practise with travels to India, Bali, Thailand and other areas with long-standing roots in meditation. Cassidy's enthusiasm, empathy and curiosity make her a real delight. She is also a leading volunteer member of the Mindfulness Challenge 2019 organizing committee, and is personally committed to help make mindfulness available and accessible to all.
Posture ExpertJulie Jarvis is the founder of REALthings. Julie has helped thousands of people find the right cushion and posture to sit quietly and meditate deeply. She also works with companies, retreat centres and individuals to create calm, inspiring spaces to breathe and be still. When Julie started REALthings, she had a vision to help people meditate and be mindful. Now her cushions are lifting the world, and she is launching new educational initiatives to help people find their own path to mindfulness. Julie and REALthings will be offering 'sitting fittings' before the program in Toronto.
